Early life and education 

Julius Agwu was born 7th of April, 1973 in Rivers state. He is also from Rivers state, Choba in Obio Akpor local government precisely. He was born to his parents Chief Augustine Amadi Agwu and Mrs Mary Agwu. He was an obedient child who always made his parents proud even when his family wasn’t that wealthy to sponsor his education.

For his elementary schooling, he went to UBE Primary School in Choba and Elementary State School. He then started his secondary school at Government Secondary School in Borokiri, and afterwards Akpor Grammar School in Ozoba. For his Higher education, he attended the University of port Harcourt and Graduated with a degree in Theatre Arts.

Career

When Julius Agwu began performing comedy shows in 1992, he was doing stand-up at several Nigerian comedy clubs. When he began hosting his own  show, “Crack Ya Ribs,” in the early 2000s, he became well-known. Today, it is one of the most watched comedic programmes in Nigeria. Along with acting in various Nollywood productions, Julius Agwu has also appeared in “A Fool at 40,” “Baby Police,” and “The Wedding Party.” Among the films he has produced and starred in are Rattle Snake (1993), King Jaja of Opobo (2014), A Long Night (2014), After Count (2011), and Torn (2013).

In addition to being a musician, Julius Agwu has put out a number of albums, such as “My Life,” “Rejoice,” and “Laff 4 Christ’s Sake.” In  addition, he has presented a number of television programmes, such as “Comedy Hour” and “Jokes Apart. Because of his distinct comedic approach, Julius Agwu has received numerous nominations and awards. He is renowned for his ability to make people laugh and has given countless performances both domestically and internationally.

 Agwu had surgery on May 12, 2015, for brain tumours. When he was informed in 2015 that he had three tumors, two in the head and one in the back, he had plans to leave the country.

Julius Agwu was married to Ibiere MacClayton Agwu for 14 years  until 2022 when it was public that the couple was no longer together. They got married in 2008, and their union is blessed with two kids; Zahra and Zadok.
