Neta-Lee Hershlag was (born June 9, 1981), raised in Jerusalem, Israel, by Jewish parents, and given the Hebrew name Neta-Lee. Portman’s father, Avner Hershlag, is a fertility specialist and gynecologist, while her mother, Shelley, works as her daughter Portman’s agent. Natalie is the only daughter of her parents; the family moved to Washington, DC, before finally relocating to Connecticut in 1988.
