Her father, Stephen Langford, is the director of medical services at the Royal Flying Doctor Service Western Operations. At the same time, her mother, Elizabeth Langford, is a pediatrician. She has a little sister named Josephine Langford, who is also an actress.

Katherine has always loved singing and began voice lessons in 2005. She learned classical Jazz and contemporary vocal training.
