Chadwick Aaron Boseman was born in 1976 in South Carolina and went on to attend Howard University in Washington, D.C., graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in directing.
In 2018, he gave the commencement speech at Howard and received an honorary degree, Doctor of Humane Letters, he then attended the British American Drama Academy in Oxford, England.
Career
Born in 1976, Chadwick Boseman wasn’t just an actor, he told stories about history and heroes. He started on stage acting and making his own plays. Hollywood wanted him in 2008, and he went for it.
He played real-life heroes like Jackie Robinson (baseball) and James Brown (music). Then, in 2016, Marvel Comics made him the powerful Black Panther.
Boseman is best known as T’Challa, the king of Wakanda. He was in “Captain America” and “Avengers” movies before getting his own Black Panther movie in 2018. It was a huge hit, showing a strong African country and inspiring many people.
