Early Life And Education

Born in Benin City, Edo State, Cynthia Morgan’s musical journey began at an astonishingly young age. By 3, she was already backing up her mother’s band, and by 7, she was writing her own songs. Raised by a single mother, a renowned gospel artist, Morgan’s passion for music only grew stronger. She led her school choir in secondary school and at 16, she embarked on a professional music career.

On August 22, 2013, she signed with Northside Entertainment Inc., owned by Jude ‘Engees’ Okoye, and subsequently released two hit singles, “Don’t Break My Heart” and “Lead Me On”, which received widespread acclaim and a nomination for “Best Reggae/Dancehall Single” at The Headies 2014. 

However, in a 2020 Instagram Live session, Morgan revealed that her contract with Okoye had resulted in the loss of her stage name, VEVO account, royalties, Instagram account, and other assets, leading to depression. The music community rallied around her, with fans donating to a GoFundMe account and even Davido offering a collaboration.
