After his parents’ divorce, he moved to College Park, Georgia, at 13, where he developed a passion for Southern hip hop, influenced by artists like T.I. and Jeezy. Initially rapping as Black Boy Da Kid, he later adopted the stage name Rich the Kid. He spent part of his high school years at Elmont Memorial Junior-Senior High School in New York.

Career
Rich the Kid released his debut mixtape “Been About the Benjamins” in 2013, followed by collaborative mixtapes with Migos, “Streets On Lock” (volumes 1-4). He then released solo mixtapes “Feels Good 2 Be Rich” (2014), “Rich Than Famous” (2014), and “Flexin’ on Purpose” (2015).
In 2015, he collaborated with Migos again on “Still On Lock” and released “Whip It” with iLoveMakonnen. He also released “Dabbin Fever” and “Trap Talk” in 2015 and 2016, respectively. In 2016, Rich founded Rich Forever Music and released “Keep Flexin”.
