Early life and education
On August 3, 1993, Maglera Doe Boy was born in Reitz, Free State, South Africa. Raised in the North West province’s Kanana township, he began rapping at the age of ten.

Maglera At a very young age, began his music career in professional studios. Legends of Afro Pop such as The Jaziel Brothers, Ntobeko, and Luthando collaborated with him while Jub-Jub was recording his album. Maglera became well-known after MashBeatz’s “Never Ride” was released. Hype Magazine listed Maglera’s debut EP, Progression, as one of the best 5 underappreciated mixtapes and EPs of 2015. After receiving widespread praise for his work on songs with Reason, Khuli Chana, Silkour, Cassper Nyovest, HHP, Towdeemac, and Ginger Trill, he was nominated for the 2017 Hype Magazine Freshmen list.
He collaborated with “Arcade-in-house producer Sub-” on the 2020 release of 2Player, a project that embodies his STRATA approach. Maglera Doe Bov’s label, ONDE Live, and Khuli Chana’s Mythrone jointly published the collaborative project. Champion Music, a joint album he released in 2020 with DJ Slide and 25K, was followed by Champion Music 2, which was published in 2022.
Through Khuli Chan’s label Mvthrone Records, Maglera secured a distribution agreement with Universal Music South Africa. Maglera’s debut studio album, Diaspora, was subsequently released in 2022. Additionally, Maglera collaborated with a variety of artists, including Wordz, Flow Jones, Cassper Nyovest, Blxkie, Boity, and more.
