Early Life

Natasha Henstridge was born on August 15, 1974, in Springdale, Newfoundland and Labrador, to parents Helen, a homemaker, and Brian, a construction manager and business owner. 

She grew up in Fort McMurray, Alberta, with her younger brother Shane. At 14, Henstridge began her modeling career by entering the Casablanca Modelling Agency’s Look of the Year contest, where she finished as first runner-up. The following year, she moved to Paris to pursue modeling, landing her first magazine cover on the French Cosmopolitan at age 15. 

She went on to appear on numerous magazine covers and starred in TV commercials for brands like Olay and Old Spice. As her modeling career took off, Henstridge transitioned to acting, with one of her early roles being Foxy Fox in a local production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in Fort McMurray.

Career

Natasha Henstridge’s film career began with her role as Sil, a genetically engineered alien-human hybrid, in the 1995 film Species. The film’s success earned her an MTV Movie Award.

She reprised her role in Species II (1998) and appeared in various films, including Adrenalin: Fear the Rush (1996), Maximum Risk (1996), The Whole Nine Yards (2000), and Ghosts of Mars (2001). She briefly returned for Species III (2004) and later judged the Noor Iranian Film Festival in 2007.
