Quinton de Kock was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. He was raised in a household that was passionate about cricket, his mother was active in South African women’s cricket and his father was a player.

Career
In 2012, Quinton de Kock made his debut for the South African domestic team, the Lions. He was selected for the South African national team in all formats due to his outstanding performances. In a T20 encounter against New Zealand in 2012, De Kock made his debut for South Africa on the international front.
It was against the same opponent that he made his One Day International (ODI) debut a few months later. He is the fastest player in ODI cricket history to score 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000, and 5,000 runs, among other records. He had great success as an opening pair with Hashim Amla, and the two of them became one of the most productive duos in ODI history.
