Prince Arthur Eze, born on November 27, 1948, in Ukpo, Dunukofia LGA, Anambra State, has led a life full of diverse experiences. 

He attended St. Augustin Secondary School in Nkwere, Imo State in 1970, before embarking on his college education at California State University. There, he pursued a degree in Mechanical and Chemical Engineering, eventually graduating in 1978. 

Prince Arthur Eze is not only the CEO of Atlas Oranto Petroleum but is also known as a Philanthropist and Politician. He holds the traditional title of ‘Ozoigbondu’ of Ndi Igbo and comes from a distinguished Royal lineage.

Career

In 1991, Arthur Eze laid the foundation for what would become Atlas Oranto Petroleum, Nigeria’s leading privately-owned company specializing in oil exploration and production. 

With 22 oil and gas licenses spread across Africa, Atlas Oranto, under Eze’s leadership, stands as the foremost holder of oil exploration blocks on the continent.

The company has established regional offices in key West African nations, with its main technical hub in Lagos and headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria. 

Expanding his business ventures, Eze ventured into the aviation industry in 1992 by establishing Triax Airlines shortly after airline deregulation in Nigeria. Though operational from Enugu Airport with a fleet of three Boeing 727s, Triax Airlines ceased operations in 2000. 

Apart from his business pursuits, Eze has delved into the realm of Nigerian politics, notably birthing the political party ‘All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA)’ within the confines of his own residence. 

Prince Arthur is rumored to wield considerable influence, particularly in Anambra State’s political arena, Eze has reportedly sponsored candidates like Senator Joy Emordi after the nullification of Emmanuel Anosike’s election in 2005. Philanthropic Work

In 2013, Prince Arthur Eze made a generous donation of $12 million towards the construction of the St. Stephen’s Anglican Deanery and Youth Development Center in Otuoke, Bayelsa State. 

Continuing his philanthropic efforts, he further donated $800,000 for the establishment of two primary schools in the Yirol and Rumbek communities in central South Sudan. 

Eze’s commitment to helping those in need extended to supporting victims of the Boko Haram insurgencies by contributing $800,000 at a fundraiser in Abuja.

During the ‘Russia 2018’ FIFA World Cup, Prince Arthur Eze demonstrated his support by giving N25 million towards the total funds raised for the event. 

In 2013, he also donated $6.3 million to assist with flood relief efforts in Nigeria and took a significant step by personally funding the construction of a medical research unit for Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
