Early Life And Education

Born in Accra and raised in the community of Abeka, the twin brothers later relocated to Takoradi for their schooling, where their passion for music blossomed. Following their education in Takoradi, they returned to Accra to pursue higher education at both the University of Ghana and Ghana Technology University College.

Career

In 2012, DopeNation’s journey into music production began under the mentorship of E.L in Accra, where their talents were nurtured. They have made significant contributions to the Ghanaian music industry by producing tracks for artists such as E.L, Shatta Wale, Joey B, Pappy Kojo, Eazzy, Flowking Stone, Olamide, Tekno, and Fameye.

Additionally, in 2021, they ventured into artist discovery and development, introducing visually impaired vocalist Adelaide The Seer to the music scene. As her official producers, DopeNation released singles like “Wire Me” and “What a God” to showcase her talent and potential.

DopeNation kicked off their music career with the release of their debut single, “Bebia Ye Shi,” in 2016, followed by the hit track “Uh Huh” in 2017. They gained widespread recognition with the release of their self-produced single, “Eish,” in April 2018.

Their collaboration with Nigerian artist Olamide and DJ Enimoney on the song “Naami” earned them the coveted Sound City MVP Group of the year in Africa award. In 2021, they collaborated with Ghanaian dance duo Dancegod Llyod and Afrobeast of DWP Academy on a successful EP titled “Music and Dance.”

Their talent as music producers was acknowledged with a nomination for the Music Producer Honor of the Year at the 2017 Ghana Music Honors Awards.

Personal Life

In a 2019 interview on Ryse N Shyne on Y97.9 FM based in Takoradi, B2, one half of the duo DopeNation, revealed that their father, who was the principal of Takoradi Technical Institute at the time, did not approve of their musical aspirations and referred to them as “stubborn.” Furthermore, B2 mentioned that they have not seen their father since they departed Takoradi.
