Early Life

Originating from eMalahleni in Mpumalanga, Kabelo Petrus Motha eventually made the move to Pretoria with his family, where he continued to pursue his passion for music.

Career

In 2009, Kabelo Petrus Motha, aka Kabza De Small, began his music career and gained recognition with his 2016 album “Avenue Sound” under Bestbyfar Records. This success paved the way for his record label, PianoHub. 

His hit single “Umshove” in 2018 and collaborations with DJ Maphorisa solidified his position in the music industry. Achieving double platinum status with “I Am the King of Amapiano: Sweet & Dust”, Kabza became the most streamed South African artist on Spotify in December 2020.

Kabza’s collaborative efforts, such as the album “Rumble in the Jungle” with DJ Maphorisa and Tresor, have garnered widespread acclaim. Recently, in June 2021, Forbes Africa recognized Kabza De Small on its prestigious “30 under 30” list for his outstanding contributions to the industry.
