Early Life And Education
Born and raised in Overport, Durban, Palesa Nomthandazo Phumelele Modiga discovered her passion for music at the age of 10, where she began singing for local competitions in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal.Â
She furthered her musical education at the National School of Arts in Johannesburg, studying classical piano, clarinet, and vocals. Continuing her journey, Modiga pursued Jazz performance studies at the College of Music, University of Cape Town from 2013 to 2015.Â

Zoë Modiga musical career soared with the release of her debut studio album Yellow: The Novel in 2017, which garnered nominations for Best African Artist Album and Best Jazz Album at the South African Music Awards.Â
