Early Life And Education

Raised by a single mother in Long Beach, California, Giveon Dezmann Evans discovered his love for music early on, singing at birthday parties and finding inspiration in artists like Frank Sinatra and Barry White. 

Despite the challenges of gang culture and poverty in his neighborhood, his mother encouraged him and his brothers to pursue their musical talents. 

He attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School and immersed himself in a music education program at the Grammy Museum, where he developed a passion for R&B and soul music, as well as modernizing classic sounds from the past.

Giveon made his debut with the self-release of “Garden Kisses” in August 2018. His talent caught the attention of Canadian record producer Sevn Thomas, who discovered him on a SoundCloud playlist and signed him to Not So Fast and Epic Records.

Performing his original songs live, such as “Like I Want You”, before recording them professionally, Giveon quickly made a name for himself. In November 2019, he released “Like I Want You” and went on to open for Snoh Aalegra on her Ugh, A Mini Tour Again across Europe and North America.
