Early life and Education
Riyad Mahrez, born in France in 1991, had football in his blood thanks to his Algerian dad. Growing up with family support and childhood friend Wissam (currently a footballer.
At 15, his father died but Riyad was so focused on football not letting anything kill his drive. Though he didn’t pursue formal education beyond school, but he was dedicated to improving his football skills to becoming a star.
Career
Born in France in 1991 with Algerian roots, Riyad’s love for football came from his dad and childhood trips to Algeria. At age 15, his father passed away but this didn’t stop him to channel his grief into performing greatly in football.
In 2014, he joined Leicester City going on to win the Premier League in 2016 excelling in goals and assist. His good and cool football, led to Manchester City coming for him in 2018 going on to win numerous FA Cup, League Cup, 4 more premier League title and the 2023 UEFA Champions League title.
Mahrez currently plays for Saudi Arabia side, Al-Alhi on club level since leaving Manchester City in 2023.
