Early Life

Appietus, born as Appiah Dankwah to Osei Poku and Susana Appiah in Accra, hails from Aduman in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. 

His musical journey began at a young age, experimenting with various objects to create music. Encouraged by his father, he received his first toy piano and started learning to play instruments at different churches. 

In 1995, he delved into the basics of sound engineering at Fredima Studios in Adabraka, Accra, setting the stage for his successful career in the music industry.

Career

Appietus continued to enhance his sound engineering skills at various studios in Accra, including Fredima Studios and Kay’s Frequency. 

He further developed his production abilities at Kampsite Studios before establishing his own studio, Creative Studioz, in 2006.

His distinctive audio signature was later revealed to be the voice of renowned artists such as Shatta Wale.

Appietus has also served as a mentor on programs such as Vodafone Icons, where he guided a group to victory in 2012. 

In collaboration with COPILOT Music and Sound, he worked on a cover of Carlinhos Brown’s “Maria Caipirnha (Samba da Bahia)” for Visa’s “Samba of the World” campaign during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
