Early Life And Education

Growing up as one of eight siblings to Samuel and Nkechi Onwubiko in Abia State, Nigeria, Limoblaze was raised in Makurdi, Benue State. 

At the age of 8, he first encountered the music of iconic rappers like Tupac, Eminem, and 50 Cent before stumbling upon the works of Christian rap artists such as Lecrae, the Ambassador, Andy Mineo, Da’ T.R.U.T.H., and Tedashii. This diverse musical exposure shaped his path towards becoming a gospel artist blending Afro gospel, Afrobeat, and Hip-hop gospel genres. 

Pursuing a degree in Biochemistry at the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi, Nigeria, Limoblaze’s journey in professional gospel music blossomed when he became a part of the Day Star Church community.

Career

After graduating from high school, Limoblaze embarked on his music career as an unsigned recording artist, kicking things off with his debut track “Memories” dedicated to his classmates. This marked the beginning of a series of releases including songs like “Grace,” “Unconditional,” and collaborations with renowned gospel artists such as Ada Ehi, Travis Greene, and Da’ T.R.U.T.H.

His musical journey saw the launch of albums like “Blind,” “Before Now,” and “Afrobeats Raps & Jesus,” each showcasing his unique blend of genres. In a milestone move, Limoblaze joined the prestigious Christian Hip Hop label Reach Records in October 2022, becoming their first international signee. The release of his hit single “Jireh (My Provider)” featuring Lecrae and Happi further solidified his position in the industry, earning a spot on the Billboard Year-End U.S. Afrobeats Songs of 2022.

In a heartwarming turn of events, Limoblaze got down on one knee and popped the question to his beloved Favour in September of 2021. 

Their love story reached a beautiful milestone when they exchanged vows in a joyous celebration in April 2022, surrounded by family and friends.
